WHO WE ARE

A Leader in Canadian Medical Education

COVID-19 Update: Given the current global pandemic the CME Course Planning Committee has made the decision to go virtual and host our Canadian Orthopaedic Resident Review Courses (Trauma, Recon, and Paeds) online early in 2021. Our planning committee is working hard to ensure that we create a dynamic, small group video-based learning environment for all attendees. We will ensure ample feedback and interactivity with faculty through real-time group discussions, and small group 1 to 1 feedback. As always, our goal is to equip our attending residents with comprehensive review, meaningful feedback on case-based scenarios, and an opportunity to interact with colleagues across Canada.
Canada Medical Education (CME) was established in 2009 by renowned orthopaedic surgeons and clinical researchers, Drs. Mohit Bhandari and Emil Schemitsch. The goal of CME is to provide health care professionals with the most current evidence-based knowledge and tools to be able to meaningfully contribute to their practice. CME has a number of focuses, all of which are founded on a principle of continuing education for health care providers and ultimately improving patient care. Whether you are an allied health professional with a desire to stay current on the modern advances in health care practice and research, or an aspiring surgeon looking to hone your skills prior to your competency exam, CME has you covered.

Principles and Practice of Clinical Research Course

This is a heavily condensed course with a lot of materials covered in a short time of 2 days. It is an excellent course & I think it should be mandatory for all residency/fellowship programs.

Coming into this course with only 9 months of research experience, the PPCR course gave me a very good overview of the things I know, and the things I need to follow-up on.
